Finally Redemption for Art Monk, And Another Redskin

Art Monk, one of the greatest wide recievers to play the game finally made it into the NFL’s Hall of Fame on Sunday. After being on the ballot for 8 years, he was finally voted in. another loved and respected Redskin, Darrell Green was voted in as well.

Darrell Green, who was a 7 time pro bowler and had 54 career interceptions made it on his first year being eligible. It was an exciting day for the Redskins since Art Monk was elected in. Some speculate that he wasn’t voted in because he wasn’t considered a deep threat and just as a possession receiver. At one point, Monk held many records in the NFL.

Some believe that also Monk’s desire to stay out of the limelight also hurt his chances since he was private and just showed up to play the game but it must feel good to be recognized to become immortalized in the HOF. Hopefully next year Russ Grimm will make it in, one of the Hogs the start of Joe Gibb’s smashmouth style football.
