First Week of the Giro is Over

Monday, May 19th, 2008

Today is a rest day and there has been some exciting moments happening. The team time Trial prologue was won by the American team Slipstream-Chipotle-H30!

The next day, my one of my favorite riders David Zabriskie crashed and abandoned the Giro. The next few days provided to be extremely riviting with Ricco winning two stages and the Italian Road champion sitting pretty in the Maglia Rosa for a couple days now.

Tomorrow is the first of 3 time trials with one of them including a mountain top finish!

GIRO D’ITALIA!

Tuesday, May 6th, 2008

It starts on Saturday and should be very exciting. Last year’s winner Danilo Di Luca will be on a smaller team this year instead of Liquigas. After the fiasco of his investigation with the Italian Olympic Committee, he was dropped for fear of being found guilty. But another Italian favorite Alessandro Petacchi was found guilty of abusing an asthma medicine and will be suspended for a year. But other favorites for this race are:

Alberto Contador (he will be in top shape since he will not be participating in this year’s Tour de France)

Gilberto Simoni, 2x winner (01, 03)

Riccardo Ricco (Simoni’s former teammate)

It will be exciting especially as when it kicks off on Saturday, with a team time trial and hopefully Team Slipstream-Chipotle-H30 will win it!

Phillies Last Night

phillies

Totally ruled. Glad I stayed until the 9th inning. Walk off home run and a couple homers made it well worth it. Plus the added benefits of friends being there making it awesome. My voice is also almost toast as well.
